What is the best way to refresh my accounting and bookkeeping?

I have a Bachelor’s in accounting, but I’m afraid since I never used it, I lost it. What is the best way, book or other method, to refresh and hopefully get my mind back to that gear. It hasn’t been but 8 years since I got out of college, however, too much life happened in between. Now I would like to try to use all of that info, but don’t have a clue how to get the knowledge flowing again.

How should I attempt to enter the accounting profession ?

I have a degree in Cconomics but not accounting. I have 9 subject to complete for accounting major.

I have bad grades in my economics degree. I could study hard and recieve good grades in accounting. Will that help to compensate ?

How should I attempt to enter the industry considering my bad grades ?

I also do not have very good people skills. I am not charismatic and people don’t like me very much.
